From 2005- 2008 Kristopher Wade studied with Dr. Utah Hamrick and since has shared the stage with some of the Live Music Capitol's finest musicians including a stint with fiddle/guitar virtuoso Erik Hokkanen and 3 years with Ghosts Along the Brazos, winners of 3 Austin Music Awards. As a member of the Marshall Ford Swing Band, Kris has shared the stage with fiddle legend Johnny Gimble, backed up Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel alumnus Cindy Cashdollar and Danny Levin at the Long Center's Tribute to Western Swing, played the National and American Folk Festivals and travelled to China as an Official State of Texas Representative, twice.
Kristopher was a member of the teaching staff at the 2014 Folk Alliance International Conference and Music Camp where he worked alongside countless world class music educators. One hang in the teachers lounge even parlayed into a trio showcase later that night with Telecaster Titans Bill Kirchen and Redd Volkaert. Whoa!
As a songwriter, Kris has had the absolute honor of having his tunes sung by Emily Gimble, Guy Forsyth, Asleep at the Wheel's Katie Holmes, Sarah Sharp and by the lovely Ann Wade. (3 of the Sharp/Wade tunes received a great review in Downbeat Magazine and earned Sarah and the Jitterbug Vipers a feature on NPR's long-running series "Song Travels." )
One of those tunes, "A Viper Just the Same," was in an episode of CBS's The Good Wife in 2014 and an episode of Grandfathered on FOX in 2016.
His tune, "Fool Fool Fool" (in which he sang the lead vocal), was featured on an episode of A&E's Longmire with Lou Diamond Phillips. Lou still will not return any of our phone calls, emails or handwritten magazine clipped letters that were so enthusiastically hand delivered to his estate.
After releasing Ann Wade's debut studio album in 2015, we are finishing up another Hot Nut Riveters album (hotnutriveters.com) and producing tons of great music here in Austin, TX Look out for the new Country Fool's Gold Release as well as a few really cool things coming down the pipeline, namely a new co-production with Wild Bill -- this album is the gonna be THE BOMB! Also worth noting is a killer new project called Pinkbox. What is Pinkbox? You'll have to look for us around town.
